About Us
Why would I want to join the Northwestern Ohio Synod Youth Discipleship Network?
Youth Ministry can be a difficult, complicated, muddy and oftentimes messy journey and calling. Oftentimes, there is a high level of anxiety around youth ministry. Leaders in youth ministry often feel the fatigue of doing more and more, and yet seeing less and less results. The YDN of NWOS seeks to draw leaders in youth ministry together so as to foster learning, discipleship, direction, and relationship. It’s freeing to know that we’re not alone.
Together, we wrestle with core questions at the root of youth ministry today. Questions like, ‘What does the cross have to do with youth ministry?’ ‘What is the purpose for youth ministry?’ ‘How do we communicate with young people the good news which resides in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ?’ You can add your own questions to this list, too!
In our experience, great things begin to happen as we learn together and from each other, discerning together the landscape of youth ministry today. God works wonders as we develop partnerships with one another so as to strengthen faith formation opportunities with and for young people. In the climate of youth ministry today, it’s all the more important to gather with leaders for mutual support and encouragement in ministry.
